Paintings from Charles' artist's residency at the Bournewood Health Trust, Surrey (1995–96).
Inspired by Spanish artists such as Velázquez and Goya, these paintings reflect he more sombre pallete of these artists combined with Charles's summer work on a vegetable farm in Chertsey, which resulted in more earthy, textured paintings.
